in this article we will know, how world war ii ended, when world war ii ended, why hitler wanted war, how hitler came to power, how hitler lost the war documentory, where hitler is buried, why hitler invaded poland,

Germany's dictator Adolf Hitler had taken over almost all the countries around him. Austria, Poland, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, France, all these countries had been invaded by Hitler. In the southern Italy, another dictator ruled there, Mussolini. He formed an alliance with Hitler, and the two were working together. Roughly speaking, there were only 3 major countries left in Europe. Germany, the Soviet Union, and Britain. There was a peace agreement between Germany and the Soviet Union. Hitler didn't need to fear the Soviets because the Soviets never attacked Germany. This meant that Britain was the only country left to stand against Germany. On the other side of the world, America didn't want to be involved in this war.

America was staying away. In such a situation, the question arises, how did the situation change? How was Hitler defeated? Let's find out the whole story of World War 2 in today's article. This article is the second part of my World War 2 series. In the first part, I told you how World War 2 started. In this part, I'll explain how the World War II ended and how Hitler was defeated. Hitler thought that now the fighting was over, Winston Churchill would like to sign a peace treaty with Hitler. Churchill wouldn't want to put his country at risk now that the German army was so powerful.

But it was the opposite. Winston Churchill gave an iconic speech. We shall fight. On the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender! He made it clear that there can never be peace between Churchill and Hitler. This war against Germany would continue. This speech meant that Hitler would want to invade the UK as well. And Hitler made the same attempt. Hitler plans Operation Sea Lion to attack the British. It is thought of how to attack Britain. The land is not connected to the UK and mainland Europe. So the army can't be sent like this. If they try to attack through ships, the British Royal Navy has many more ships than Germany.

It won't sit well. Then it is decided by Hitler to control the airspace first. The German Air Force has 2,600 aircraft near the Luftwaffe. the UK had only 700. That's why on 10th July 1940, Hitler attacked Britain through air. The German Air Force attacked Luftwaffe by dropping bombs. Initially, their aim was to destroy aircrafts, airfields, and manufacturing factories. The small British Royal Air Force, which was 1-4th in size compared to the German Air Force, tried its best to defend its country. It was a tough fight. But eventually, the British had to endure more losses. Gradually, the Germans started attacking at night too. It was the same night of 24th August, 1940. When by mistake, some German pilots dropped a bomb on the city of London.

Where many civilians were killed. Winston Churchill thought it was a war. They were directly attacking our cities. He thought he would do the same. The UK retaliated by dropping a bomb on Berlin. When Hitler saw this happening, initially, he wasn't interested in dropping bombs on the city of London. But when he saw that the bombing of cities had already begun, he decided to destroy London as well. On 15th September, 1940, Hitler ordered the German Air Force to carry out an all-out, decisive attack. More than 1,000 fighter jets were to be sent in one go and the work to be completed in one day. Imagine what people would have seen that day. More than 1,000 fighter jets were flying in the sky to drop bombs on your country.

Specifically, this number was 1,120 aircrafts. Out of which, there were 620 fighters and 500 bombers. The British prepared their Royal Air Force. They had only 630 aircrafts. A historic battle broke out in the skies that day. The first wave of 100 bombers and 400 fighters was intercepted. Fighting raged all the way from the coast. The British Royal Air Force dropped more than 60 Luftwaffe aircraft. Only 29 aircraft were lost on its side. You heard it right. The British successfully stopped the German Air Force's attack. This day is known as the Battle of Britain Day. What was the reason behind this? This question will come to your mind. How did it happen that the German Air Force, which was so overpowered, had a large number of aircraft, yet how did it lose to the British Air Force?

The reason is very simple, friends. Whenever a country is attacked, when a country invades another country, the invading country wants to gain something. The country that defends itself, is literally a question of existence. If we don't fight with our lives today, our country will be destroyed. There will be no place left for us to live. There is a huge difference in the motivation of the soldiers. A recent example of this is the Russian-Ukrainian war. When Russia invaded Ukraine last year, everyone thought that within a week, Russia would destroy the entire Ukraine. Because the Russian army was much bigger than the Ukrainian army. It was technologically more advanced. But the Ukrainian soldiers had a lot of motivation. So to a large extent, Ukraine was successful in defending its country.

The Battle of Britain Day was one of the first major losses for Hitler. For the first time in World War II, Hitler had to face a defeat. Hitler knew that the chances were low that the mission would be successful. So Operation Sea Lion was postponed. And Hitler took his eyes off the UK and looked at the Soviet Union. In April 1941, the story looked something like this. In Eastern Europe, the countries of Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria, had formed an alliance with Germany. They had become part of the Axis Powers. After that, if we go further east, Hitler had already taken over Yugoslavia and Greece. Actually, the Italian dictator Mussolini, was about to occupy Libya and Greece. But the presence of the British in the Mediterranean Sea, was a bit too much.

The Italian forces couldn't deal with it alone. So to defeat the British forces, Hitler sent some German troops to Libya to fight with the Italians. With this help, he seized Yugoslavia and Greece. The interesting thing is that Hitler wasn't that interested in invading Britain. Hitler actually wanted to sign a peace treaty with Britain. He thought, why not focus on the Soviet Union, defeat the Soviet Union, When this happened, Britain would have to sign a peace treaty out of fear. But why attack the Soviet Union when they already had a peace treaty? The real reason behind this was Hitler's ideology. He hated the Communists. Apart from this, he thought that if the Soviet Union took over a large country, Germany would become the number one superpower in the world.

Because so much land would be under Germany. Basically, Hitler had become a megalomania. He thought he was the king of the world. The power had made him crazy. He thought he could achieve anything. He thought he could take over the world. But attacking the Soviet Union was a huge mistake for Hitler. In fact, it became a turning point in World War II. Hitler's plan was very simple. The way he invaded France, he would invade the Soviet Union in the same way. He would divide his German forces into three parts. The first part would go directly from the Baltic region to Leningrad. The city where Stalin used to live. The second part would attack Moscow. And the third part would attack from the south through Ukraine.

This operation began on 22nd June 1941. The Soviet Union's army was much larger than the Germans. They had 20,000 tanks. The Germans only had 6,000 tanks. But there was a huge difference. The German technology was much better than that of the Soviets. That's why the upper hand in this battle was still Hitler. To save his country, the Soviet Union joined forces with Britain and became a part of the Allied Powers. Mr. Molotov signed for the Soviet this vitally important undertaking on the part of both countries to fight Hitlerite Germany till victory is won. Neither country to negotiate or conclude a separate peace. Together, a plan was made to send supplies to the Soviet army. A route was decided that would go through Iran.

But the problem was that the government in Iran was in favor of Hitler. For this reason, the UK and the Soviet Union together invaded Iran. There was not much benefit because with the help of Hitler's Blitzkrieg strategy, in just 2 days, the Germans had already occupied so much land of the Soviet Union within 100 km. Within a few weeks, they advanced so much that they were only 300 km away from Moscow. At this point in time, there were some disagreements between Hitler and his military commanders. As a result, the next German advance was delayed till October. the cold starts increasing. The Soviets had an advantage in the cold weather. They were used to fighting in the cold. On the other hand, on the side of Japan, the Soviet Union got another advantage.

Japan and the Soviets had signed a Non-Aggression Treaty. This meant that the troops of the Soviet Army, on the eastern border, were fighting with Japan. Now they could fight in the West, against Germany, to save their country. In December 1941, there's another twist in our story. Japan suddenly attacks the Pearl Harbour base of the USA. Without any provocation. More than 2,300 American troops are killed. America didn't want to be involved in World War II at this point in time. Looking at what had happened in Europe, America had said that it didn't want to be involved in it. It was very involved in World War I. Look at yourself. But when the bombing of Pearl Harbor takes place, America thinks it's enough. At this point in time, America officially declares war against Japan and enters World War II.

I ask that the Congress declare a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire. America joined the alliance with the Allied Forces. In which there are big countries like the UK, the Soviet Union, and China. You might be wondering why the Pearl Harbour was attacked. There's a complete backstory behind it. America took a few months to prepare for the war. Before entering, by the time of early 1942, Japan had already invaded countries like Thailand and Cambodia, and had taken over.

In mid-1942, Hitler decided to focus on the South of the Soviet Union. Their supply chain was coming from Iran. He wanted to destroy it first. There was a fierce battle in the city of Stalingrad. The Soviet Union's army was able to successfully defend itself against the German army. On the other side of the Earth, the Allied forces together with America, attack the Japanese territories in the South Pacific. This battle is known as the Battle of Midway. Four important Japanese aircraft and supply carriers are destroyed in June 1942. In the Battle of Midway, the Japanese carrier fleet, the mightiest in existence, was utterly destroyed. Japan, at the height of her military power, lost not only a major naval engagement, but in a single day, doomed the Japanese Empire to ruin and defeat. By the end of 1942, the British Army successfully threw the Italian and German forces out of Egypt. The Battle of Stalingrad lasted for a very long time.

In November 1942, the winter season had come again, and it was becoming very difficult for the German army to fight. At one point in time, the German army had almost taken over the city of Stalingrad. But the Soviets continued to fight till the end. The Battle of Stalingrad was the deadliest battle during World War II. Finally, the Soviet soldiers were successful. About 300,000 German troops in Stalingrad were surrounded by Soviet soldiers from all sides. They surrendered in February 1943. The heroic defense of Stalingrad. The Soviet army turning the Nazi six-month assault into the most ghastly military disaster in German history. Hands held high, the beaten Nazis pour from house after house in abject surrender. This was the biggest turning point of World War II.

A few months later, in July 1943, the common people living in Italy, pushed their dictator Mussolini out. Literally. The common people in Italy saw an anti-fascist movement. Disturbed by their circumstances, the civilians fight against their dictator. Mussolini is murdered by a common Italian partisan living in a village. Partisan means the civilians who take up arms to fight for a cause. An interesting fact here, the famous song Bella Ciao, you must have heard it in the Money Heist series. The song originates in Italy at this time. If you've noticed, the first words of the song are pronounced as O Parti Giano. Partigiano means partisan. Bombastic Mussolini, the sawdust Caesar, comes to his end in the gutter, fitting climax to a life of treachery and double-cross.

He led his country to ruin when he threw his lot in with Hitler. A new government was formed in Italy. And this new government decided to end the war with the Allied forces. Gradually, the confidence of the Allied countries was increasing that they could defeat Hitler. In November 1943, Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill met in Tehran to discuss how to end World War II. 6th June 1944. Another historic day, known as D-Day. On this day, the Allied forces begin a terrible operation to land. More than 1.5 lakh British, Canadian and American soldiers land on the beaches of Normandy in France. Here, they will fight against the German Army on the ground and liberate France. A few years after the evacuation of Dunkirk, it was the first time that the British Army was on the ground to fight against the German Army.

Another of the great decisive battles of world history has been joined. This is the day for which free people long have waited. This is D-Day. This becomes a very problematic situation for Hitler. Hitler had asked his army to focus on the Soviet Union. They were suffering losses because of the cold. They couldn't defeat the Soviet Union completely. And now, the Western Front is also under attack. So Hitler decided to withdraw the army from the Eastern Front. and focus all the counter-attacks on the Allied forces coming from the West. As soon as Hitler withdrew his army from the Soviet Union, a major counter-attack was seen. Within 2 months, the Soviets took back about 600 km of land from Germany. Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Romania were now under the occupation of the Soviet army.

On the other hand, the Allied forces also landed in France from the South. One after the other, the liberation of the countries began. Hitler's army was thrown out. Yugoslavia had thrown out the German troops on their own. Germany was being attacked from three directions. Hitler planned his last major offensive. It was called the Battle of Bulge. In the forest region of the Ardennes, the goal was for the German army to withdraw the Allied forces. Before formally invading Germany, the Allied forces carried out powerful aerial bombings on German cities. In February 1945, a Yalta conference was held in Crimea. It announced that any country and declared war on Germany, he could join the attack on Germany. Venezuela, Uruguay, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Paraguay, all declared war on Germany.

The last 4 months of World War II were the most painful. Almost every day, 30,000 people were being killed. As the Allied forces advanced, they came to know about Hitler's concentration camps. Where millions of innocent Jews were brutally killed. The bombing of the Allied forces continued in the German cities. Later, it was criticised by some people that it was unnecessary to drop bombs on German cities where many civilians were killed. Cities like Dresden were completely destroyed. It was said that when Hitler could be killed on the ground, there was no need to do this. By this point in time, it was clear that Hitler was going to lose. Finally, in May 1945, Berlin was surrounded by the Soviet army. Two days before this, on 30th April 1945, Hitler committed suicide.

On 8th May 1945, Germany formally surrendered. The German territories were divided. East Germany and West Germany were formed. A new Poland was created by a large part of East Germany. And the borders of many countries were re-drawn. The map of Europe that you see today, looks like it was because of World War II. The map before this was something completely different. When a new government was formed in Germany, it joined hands with France. The long-standing enmity between the two countries, was finally over. In the beginning, to promote cooperation between the two countries, a European Coal and Steel Committee was formed. So that they could trade in things like coal and steel. After a few years, countries like Italy and Britain became a part of it.

Trading was taken to the next step. And eventually, in the year 2000, the formation of the European Union took place. An organization that has now ended all the borders between the European countries. And thanks to this, to this day, After World War II, there was no such war in Europe. In October 1945, the United Nations was also established. to ensure that there is no more World War in the world. They have made a beginning, a brave beginning that can build a mighty structure for peace. Out of a world of agony and total war, has come a charter that must mark a turning point in human history. A new way lies ahead. After this, the framework of the World Bank, IMF and NATO is also set up.

This is the reason why you have noticed that the permanent members of the United Nations, are actually the countries that were part of the Allied Forces in World War 2. An interesting fact that I haven't told you yet, after Germany surrendered, World War 2 didn't end. Japan still took 2 months to surrender. In July 1945, Japan was given an ultimatum to surrender. But this ultimatum was ignored. After which, America dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
